The 60+ member-big initiative, led by the City of Helsinki, has been set up to assist organizations in improving their eco-performance and go beyond the current legislative requirements.

For 2020, the Helsinki-headquartered shipping company plans to cut its fleet's CO2 emissions by 10kt vs. what was emitted last year. To that end ESL Shipping has been trialling, with the help of the ports of Helsinki and Raahe, the use of biogas and renewable diesel as bunker for its ships.
