While the turnover of liquids contracted by 7.7% on the result from Q1 2018, down to 8.55mt, the handlings of general cargo and dry bulk rose, by 1.9% and 10% year-on-year, respectively, up to 20.41mt and 5.79mt.
Out of the total, China-bound shipments amounted to 78,268 TEUs (+27% year-on-year), while to-Europe traffic toted up to 56,921 twenty-footers (+45% yoy).
Exports amounted to 320.6mt (+9.7% year-on-year), followed by 37.4mt (-11.5% yoy) made in short sea/cabotage, 32.3mt (+1.3% yoy) in transit, and 18.7mt (+3.2% yoy) in import traffic.
With 0.6mt (-40% year-on-year), grain shipments constituted the single largest cargo group transported by the St. Petersburg-based company, part of the UCL Holding.
