The ferry line has entrusted the Chinese Jinling Shipyard with the delivery of a brand-new ro-pax, scheduled for delivery in 2022.
The GT 45k-big Green Ship will be 230 m-long and 31 m-wide, offering room for up to 866 passengers as well as 4,600 lane metres of cargo space.
She'll be a dual-fuel ferry, primarily sailing on liquefied natural gas. According to TT-Line, the newbuilding's emission footprint will be over 50% lower than the company's previous generation of ro-paxes.
The deal with Jinling includes an option for another vessel.
"We're expecting the demand for short sea shipping to continue to rise in the Baltic Sea. With this investment we're making it sure that we'll satisfy our clients' needs as well as support their development in an even more effective way. At the same time, this vessel will offer a modern and comfortable journey for our passengers in combination with the most eco-friendly transport solution," Hanns H. Conzen, CEO, TT-Line, commented.
